Hello, and welcome to my website!  Please bear with me as this Baby Boomer grandma transitions into the computer age!  I've decided to learn how to design this website myself, and it presents a very creative and educational challenge!  I have a background in computer programming, but that was a few years back.

I first learned to do Reiki in 2000, got ordained, and went on to become a Reiki master in 2004.  I attended massage school in 2001 but chose not to get certified or licensed.  In 2003 I was introduced to Quantum-Touch and in 2005 I became a Certified Practitioner and later that year, a Certified Instructor.  I have attended both the Supercharging and the Core Transformation advanced level workshops.

I moved back to Virginia in 2002 and designed my home with the goal in mind of operating a healing center eventually.  I set up a beautiful healing room where I can work with clients, and the formal living room offers comfortable seating for gatherings.

I volunteered as the organizer of the Northern Virginia Quantum-Touch Healing Circle and I facilitate monthly meetings at my home.  For further information, go to www.qt.meetup.com/5/.

BIO

I was born in 1953 in Leesburg, in northern Virginia.  My dad was an auto mechanic, my mom was a housewife and I had one older brother.  I grew up in nearby Arlington and Great Falls, but every weekend my parents would drive us out to my paternal grandmother's farm near Lovettsville, so I grew up knowing both the city and country ways of life.  I excelled in school, getting top grades and participating in various clubs and honor societies in high school.  I was also in Girl Scouts for ten years, and I loved camping and hiking.

I went to Virginia Tech for two years, majoring in Forestry, but decided to leave college and get married.  We eventually moved to Harpers Ferry, West Virginia and bought a house there.  I got divorced ten years later and updated my education so I could support myself and my two children.  I started off working as a computer programmer, but found my skill with computers more marketable doing administration and accounting, which became my bread and butter for many years.

My children grew up to be amazing individuals.  My daughter joined the Army and it looks like she's going to make a career of it.  My son joined the Marines for five years, got married, had a baby and now works as an air traffic controller.  I'm very proud of both of them.

My parents passed away in 2001, which is when I acquired the house in Lovettsville.  The land was originally part of the family farm and I wasn't ready to let go of the ties to my heritage and my parents.  This house was their dream, constructed from the love that they had for each other and their family.

I'm an Earth mother, loving plants and animals.  Over the years I've had horses, dogs and cats, fish, birds, rabbits, turtles and lizards, and I love my gardens.  I'm also into old vehicles, muscle cars and Dodge trucks.  I guess that comes from having a dad who was a mechanic.  I also love arts and crafts: watercolor painting, sewing, quilting, beading, embroidery, etc.  I read quite a bit and like to watch programs on history, science and wildlife.
